Athletic Meetings

  • Girls Soccer Player Meeting – Thursday, 10/27/16 after school at 1:45 p.m. in the AC
  • Girls Lacrosse – Conditioning to begin some time after Thanksgiving break. Stay turned for more details.
  • Boys Basketball: Workouts will be every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
  • Girls Basketball: Open Gym every Thursday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Contact Coach Michelle Sklar at sklarm01@wsdmi.org if you have questions.

Calling all JV Dancers

Informational Parent and Dancer meeting will be held on November 1st from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a parent meeting in the cafeteria and a “group try-out”. Nothing hard, just making sure everyone can move to music. We will teach everything dancers will need to know once the season starts. Remember no experience required. If your hope is to have fun and learn more about dancing, then JV dance is the team for you. You must have a current physical and concussion awareness form on file to tryout.

College Application Week

Representatives from colleges around the state are still visiting Waterford Mott. If your student would like to attend one or more of these visits, please have them sign up at least one day in advance to obtain a pass.  See Mrs. Smith upstairs in the Academic Center (Office G) to register.

  • October 24:  U of Detroit – Mercy
  • October 17: U of M – Dearborn
  • November 1: Grace Bible College
  • November 14: Mary Grove/Adrian

Seniors: Get your college applications in as soon as possible. The best scholarships are given to those who apply early.  College application week is October 24th through October 28th. The 240 Computer Lab will be open during lunches for students who need help in applying. Be sure to bring your social security number and a method of payment if there is an application fee. Also, double-check to see if an essay is required or letters of recommendation so you can have them ready when you apply.

The Armed Services Vocational Assessment Battery) is being offered on November 11th at Mott High School for Juniors and Seniors. If your student is interested in joining the military and would like to take this test, have them sign up with Mrs. Smith. There is no cost.

 

 

Holiday Shopping Bonanza

Calling all Artists, Crafters and Home Businesses. The Waterford Coalition for Youth invites you to be a featured vendor at “Dashing Through December” on Saturday, December 3 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Donelson Hills Elementary School. Cost is $50 per table or two tables for $90. Contact the Coalition for Youth at (248) 618-7424 for registration and information.

Attention Girl and Boy Bowlers

If you are interested in bowling this winter, there will be open bowling at Airway Lanes from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Sundays. This is available at no cost for anyone attending Waterford Mott. No experience required. Tryouts are November 15 and November 16th from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Airway Lanes located at 4825 Highland Road in Waterford.

Calling All Dancers

Due to an increased interest in dance at Mott, a JV Dance Team will be forming. Please contact Coach Alexandra Velez for more information via email Gessna01@wsdmi.org. Please be aware:

  • Mandatory practices will be held every other Tuesday and some Sundays.
  • The team will start with the basics such as beginner stretches and technique, counting music, pom motions, correct body placement, and learning basic hip hop, jazz and pom choreography
  • The season will start in November and be finished by February.
  • Dancers will be responsible for purchasing a few team items such as dance shoes, poms, black jazz pants, performance top and a team warm-up jacket. Prices will vary depending on how many dancers are interested in the team.
  • Dancers grades will be checked each Friday and must meet sports eligibility requirements to dance with the team.
  • Responsibility, dedication, and hard work are imperative.

Girls Basketball

There will be a meeting for any girls interested in playing basketball on Tuesday, October 25th at 3:15 in the Gym. Conditioning will immediately follow the meeting so please be dressed and ready to go at 3:15 p.m. Girls Basketball open gyms are held every Thursday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Contact Coach Michelle Sklar at sklarm01@wsdmi.org if you have questions.

Special Education Information Meeting

Waterford School District’s Student Support Services will be holding a Special education Information Meeting for Parents on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Kurzman Administration Building, Crary Campus located at 501 North Cass Lake Road in Waterford. This presentation has been designed to enable parents of students with special needs to gain an overview of specialized transportation services within the district and receive information regarding district speech and language services.
