Focus on the Road

The Suburban Collection and the Waterford School District have teamed up to help bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving through the Focus on the Road program. Students can participate by producing a video public service announcement. Scholarship prizes will be awarded to the top three winners with the first prize of $2,500. Now Hiring Lifeguards

Now hiring Lifeguard with flexible hours and availability to meet student schedules. Waterford Pool & Fitness Center, Kettering and Mott Campuses, is looking for dynamic individuals to maintain the safety of patrons in and around the pool. Minimum age is 15 years. Earn great job experience that fits within a busy sport, study and social schedule. Acquire responsibility and leadership skills ideally suited for college applications. Certification preferred, but training will be provided in:

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer
  • First Aid Certification

An Incredible Movie Night

The Taste of Waterford and the Waterford Coalition for Youth proudly present “An Incredible Movie Night!” on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Waterford Mott Performing Arts Center located at 1151 Scott Lake Road in Waterford. Tickets are $10 per person. Price includes movie and dinner donated by area restaurants. Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. and the Performing Arts Center will open for seating at 7:15 p.m. The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m. For more information, contact the Waterford Coalition for Youth at (248) 618-7424.

2018 All Night Graduation Party

If you have not yet purchased your ticket to the All Night Graduation Party 2018, you need to do this as soon as possible. Payments can be made to the front office during normal office hours or during parent/teacher conferences. Oakland Schools Technical Campus Openings

Attention current 10th and 11th grade parents.  Oakland Schools Technical Campus has several programs with open spots for the next school year. If your child is interested in attending any program next year, please have them see their counselor as soon as possible.  Programs with openings include:

Agriscience, Energy and Electrical Technologies, ITEAM, Construction, Culinary, Mechatronics, Machining, Collision Repair.

Programs with a wait list include:

Health Sciences, Auto Tech, Visual Imaging, Cosmetology

Equality Week

Monday, February 26: Gender equality quotes will be hung up for students to read.

Tuesday, February 27:  Inspirational photos will be hung up for students to see. (Both the powerful quotes and photos can be tweeted by students with the hashtag #Mottgenderequalityweek to be entered into a raffle to win a prize.

Wednesday, February 28:  Spirit Day! Boys wear pink and girls wear blue.

Thursday, March 1st.: Drop Box of Change. Students can fill out an anonymous form of things they notice at the school related to gender equality or inequalities.

Friday, March 2nd.: Movie Day. We will be showing Mulan in the PAC during 6th and 7th hour. Students will pay $5 at lunch to go, and receive a wristband on the day of the event.
